School Street Plaza | Fairfax
The property at 95 Broadway, known as “School Street,” is being considered for redevelopment into a mixed-use project. The most recent application submitted on November 12, 2024 proposes 243 apartments, utilizing Senate Bill 330. Through SB330 the project can be streamlined for approval and would include affordable units. The project plans include 202 market-rate units and 41 affordable units (25% low-income affordable).
The Town of Fairfax received the preliminary application on December 4, 2024, and the complete application on May 8, 2025. The Town determined the application to be incomplete on June 4th. The application was appealed prior to being deemed incomplete. However, this is not a valid appeal since the project has not yet been deemed complete. The Town is also taking a position that this project does not need to be approved ministerially. We believe that the applicant is correct in stating that this law must be approved ministerially.
