Streamlining
Almost all of the housing in Marin that has been permitted in the past three years has been ADUs. There’s also a growing misconception that local control has largely disappeared and that getting a housing project approved is no longer a barrier. It’s true that more projects are getting approved than in the past—but most projects are still taking well over a year to get from preliminary application to approval, and the time from approval to construction can take much longer still, if they make it to construction.
